Parenting

Choosing to raise your baby may feel overwhelming at first. Ask any parent and they will agree that parenting is definitely challenging but they would also agree that it is very rewarding too!

A lot of times when facing an unplanned pregnancy there may be worries about being in school, not knowing how to parent, being a single parent or not being able to afford a baby right now.  There is also the worry that those you care about will be angry or not supportive.  The good news is that most times women find that their family and friends support them in their decision and that there are a lot of resources available to help with material and financial needs. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of help to find them. The staff and client advocates at Choices can connect you to various resources to help you get the support that you need.

Choices offers help connecting with prenatal care providers, childbirth preparation classes, parenting classes and infant supplies. We offer prenatal vitamins, a baby boutique stocked with essential baby items and clothing, and diapers for a year for those who participate in our Parenting University. All of these will help you to be successful in your choice to parent.  We are here for you!

Our “Parent University” program helps new parents learn what to expect once the baby arrives.  It is led through classes and individual sessions that are fun, interesting and practical. We can help you learn how to be the best parent you can be!

Parenting is challenging especially under difficult circumstances but it is not impossible.  Many students have finished school and kept jobs and many women have found support and care from unexpected places. Having emotional and material support makes a big difference and can help alleviate stress and worries.  Choices is here to support you and help you be successful in your choice to parent.  Call us today!
